I got wet.

I won’t say I actually swam in the Bay; I spent 15 minutes standing in the Bay up to my waist before I plunged the rest of myself in. Then I spent about five minutes splashing around a little. I didn’t make it out to the buoy that marks the beginning of the swim.

I did notice that my upper body was more affected by the cold than my lower body. If I could have gone in with an upper-body wetsuit, or even just a neoprene headpiece, I might have been willing to stay in longer.

But every journey begins with a small step, and today I got in the Bay for a few minutes. I think I need to learn how to enjoy cold.
