Another personal best!
10.5 miles in 1:38:33. That’s a 9:23 pace for my longest-ever-yet run.
I started out with my regular 4.4 miles out to the start of Chrissy Field and back, and added a jaunt to the end of the municipal pier. Then I was feeling pretty good so I decided to see how far down the Embarcadero I could go to add a little more distance. Bing the big dumb perfectionist I am, I went all the way out to Third and King at SBC Park. And back. 4.4 + 0.5 + 5.6 == a very modular 10.5 miles.
Feels great! I was pushing my heartrate the whole way. Starting not to care about that. If I can do 10+ miles at 180bpm it can’t be that bad for me. I usually don’t run until my legs hurt, but I sure did this time. It’s all muscle pain though.
The kicker is that I went to my gym to take a shower and found that the showers are under construction for the next three to four weeks. So Now I’m stinky in my office and looking for a place to wash up.
Also pissed off because I only get 70 minutes of play on my iPod while running before the battery dies. I get more than that if I’m not running, but damn.
Plus I think my iPod erased itself when I plugged it in at work today. Now THAT sucks.
